Privacy Policy

Welcome to Baba: Kitchen Inventory (the "App"), a kitchen inventory management tool. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in via Google or Apple, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture URL to create your account and enable cross-device synchronization.

Kitchen Data: To provide our service, we store the items in your inventory, your shopping lists, and your kitchen membership status (which kitchens you own or have joined).

Image Data: When you use the AI Receipt Scanner, the App captures images of your receipts. These images are transmitted securely to our servers for temporary processing by AI to extract grocery items. We do not store these raw images permanently on our servers.

Usage & Battery Data: We track an internal "Battery" or energy level associated with your account to manage access to AI features and monetization rewards.

2. How We Use Your Information

To synchronize your kitchen data across multiple devices.
To enable collaboration between members of the same kitchen.
To process receipts using AI technology to automate your inventory.
To manage subscriptions and rewarded ad interactions.
To send local notifications regarding expiring food items.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party providers to power the App:

Google Firebase: Used for authentication, cloud database storage (Firestore), and server-side logic (Cloud Functions).
Google Generative AI (Gemini): Used to analyze receipt images and map them to grocery items.
Google AdMob: Used to display rewarded advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve personalized ads.
Apple / Google Play: Used to process In-App Purchases and subscriptions.

4. Data Sharing & Collaboration

If you join a "Kitchen" owned by another user, or if others join your kitchen, those users will be able to see the inventory and shopping list items associated with that shared kitchen, as well as your profile name and emoji.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time through the "Account" section of the App or by contacting us directly.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
